The last 2 months have been a massive wake-up call for all Overstrand Citizens. Here we find ourselves in one of the most beautiful places on Earth reeling from events, realisations, emotions, accusations and conversations that have affected every single one of us.
The one thing that we can all agree on is that there has to be change. We need a new vision. We need a collective vision. A vision that is sustainable, that takes every person’s needs and hopes into account. We need to agree on this vision and implement it – together. Now.
The Overstrand has always been known as the ‘Riviera of the South’. This is where rock stars and royalty come to escape the madding crowd, to go shark cage diving or to commune with nature. This is where sporting heroes, politicians and millionaires have their holiday homes. This is where families come to make memories. This is where thousands of people come to retire to. This where a large number of Europeans, ‘swallows’, escape to for the winter. This is where people come from all over South Africa, Africa and the World to ‘seek their fortune’.
This is also where we all live and work and raise our families.
In order for us to do this we need every citizen to have their basic needs met, we need sustainable local economic development and we need to put our differences aside and work together as a whole.
This is a daunting task. Where do we begin?
Please come to this community meeting where one of the top mediators and change agents in the country, COLIN HALL, will help us take a step in the right direction.
The Overstrand is perfectly poised to set an example for the rest of our Country on how a divided community can come together and turn hope into reality.
Anyone in the Overstrand who wants to make a difference is welcome to attend.
Coffee (thank you The Beanery Hermanus) and Tea provided.
Feel free to bring a plate of snacks.
Donation box at the door to cover the cost of the hall. (If 500 people come R2 each will cover it)
Let’s do this!
COLIN HALL
Colin’s mediation and leadership training skills have successfully brought people together from large corporates and unions, to disagreeing factions in the DRC and Rwanda, to community leaders in Plettenberg Bay.
